Hökarängen

Handelsresanden is a 27m2 addition and renovation of a 85m2 single family home in Hökarängen, a postwar suburb in the south of Stockholm. The existing house is a self-built home from the early 1940’s, one of many in a historically landmarked area. The addition is defined by two volumes that extend and confront existing typologies and materials and strengthens the house's social connections to the street and physical connection with the garden, specifically an old plum tree at its center.
